Project Description: My International Food Business

Dear Students,
In this project, you will become entrepreneurs. Each group has been assigned a Spanish-speaking country, and your task is to research this country and create a business that sells typical food from there, as if you were at a food festival. Through this project, you will learn about the culture, food, currency, and other important aspects of the country you were assigned. Additionally, you will practice Spanish vocabulary and use the present tense in your descriptions.
Steps to Complete the Project:
1. Research Your Assigned Country:
• Research the culture, typical food, currency, and traditions of your assigned country.
2. Select Typical Dishes:
• Choose at least two dishes that you want to sell in your business.
• Write a brief description of each dish, including the main ingredients.
3. Design Your Business:
• Give your business a name.
• Create a simple logo that represents your business.
• Write a menu in Spanish with the selected dishes and their prices in the country’s currency.
4. Prepare Your Presentation:
• Present your business as if you were at a food festival.
• Practice how you will describe your business and dishes in Spanish, using the vocabulary learned in class.
Assessment:
You will be evaluated on the following aspects:
• Complete Research: Clear and detailed information about the country and typical food (20 points).
• Creativity: Originality in the name, logo, and business presentation (15 points).
• Use of Spanish: Correct use of vocabulary and the present tense (20 points).
• Description of Dishes: Detailed and accurate explanations of the dishes (15 points).
• Oral Presentation: Clarity, pronunciation, and fluency when presenting (20 points).
• Teamwork (if applicable): Collaboration and joint effort (10 points).
Total: 100 points
