The Cheverus Art program continues to be enhanced thanks to yet another very generous grant from the Gordon and Marjorie Osbourne Foundation. This newest grant has allowed us to obtain 32 iPads specifically for use in art class. These devices are equipped with various art applications and will be used for photography, video, multi-media art, as well as simulations of fine arts, research, and reference. Last year, we were able to create a new art room in the area that was once the Small Hall stage, purchase new furniture, and fashion the room with a 75” Smart Panel interactive screen. Previous grants from this foundation have allowed us to purchase materials like canvas, clay, sculpture tools, and paint. Field trips to area art museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the deCordova Museum, have also been funded through these grants. The addition of the Smart Panel has allowed the students to observe a wide range of art styles and examples of great works of art by the masters.
