As we approach the holiday seasons of Christmas, Diwali, Thanksgiving, and others, I urge you to remain vigilant in observing the guidelines set forth by medical experts to minimize the risk of spreading the infection of COVID-19. Despite our best efforts, we have experienced first-hand the impact of COVID-19. It results in disrupting in-person instruction. It causes parents and families who are depending their children being in school to hastily make other arrangements. Most importantly, however, it puts the rest of the school community at risk: students, parents, and families.
It is imperative that you avoid celebrations that include people beyond your immediate family, continue to socially distance, and wear a mask, especially indoors. It is not ideal; it is not natural for us not to be together, especially during traditional holidays, but these are different times calling for different behaviors in order to ensure the safety of all. If you do, in fact, socialize with those outside of your family, please keep your children home for two weeks or produce evidence of a negative COVID test from a minimum of 3 days after any such gathering. Please, please, please do your part to keep one another safe!
