            Grade 6- Goformative ( E6LT6T) # 1-8 only. 

              Grade 7-  Read explore 11 & 12     1) What does the first section tell us about why we need the 4th - 8th Amendments. 2) What does the   4th Amendment prevent? 3)  What does the 5th  & 6th Amendments promise? 3) What does the 7th Amendment give us? 4) What does th 8th Amendment prevent? 5) What 2 concerns do the 9th & 10th Amendments address. Remember to come on at 10:50 for a quick review.    You may use this information  for the goformative  you will do on Thursday and Friday also.         Branches of Government     
        
        Grade 8- Read explore 8. 1) How did the requirements change over the years? 2)  What were the reasons Roosevent imposed the Basic Naturalization Act? 3) Explain how immigration is a long and hard process.

      Grade 6-  Read the 2 review pages  in the evaluate section.

         Grade 7- Read explore 10. You already know the information in explore 9 that you need.  1) Explain what  the First Amendment secured for people? 2) Give 2 examples of what this amendment protects.  Do the same thing as  you did in 1 & 2, for the 2nd & 3rd Amendments.  
                                               
        Grade 8- Read explore 7. 1) Explain the difference of Ellis and Angel Islands. 2) List, as bullets the steps taken for immigration.

                                                            Monday 4/12 
       Grade 6-  Read explore 7.  1) Why was travel on land dangerous? 2) Sea travel was also dangerous so what did hey do to still be able to travel on the sea? 3) How did these dangers hurt  Chinese culture? 

       Grade 7-     Read explore 6 and focus on the Checks and Balance section.  Watch the videos below on explore 6. Click on the link  below and be able to talk about  it tomorrow. You  will have an assignment on checks and balances this week, so make sure  you can understand it. You do not ever have to memorize it,  just be able to understand it as you look at it.                                                   Checks and Balances

       Grade 8- Read explore 6. 1) What were the 3 goals nativists had against immigrants? 2)Name 3 things they blamed  immigrants for 3) How did they try and stop Chinese immigrants
      4) What other ways did they try to reduce immigration? 5) What victories did the nativists have?

     Grades 6 & 7- No Homework ... go outside and have some fun!!! 
     
      Grade 8-  Check the spelling on your  yearbook page. Here is the code for the immigration project (VT2M6K) for next week. 
                                          Thursday 4/8
      Grade 6-  Read explore 6 and  tell me about the dangers that China faced even though the mountains protected them. No more than 4 sentences. Do a good job and there is no homework this weekend. Remember class is at 9 tomorrow!

      Grade 7- Read explore 5.  1) Tell me in your own words what the Founders  believed about the Citizens of this country. It must be in your own words. Briefly.  2) Briefly explain popular sovereignty, individual rights, Representative government, and. limited government. No homework this weekend if you all do a good job!!!!

      Grade 8-  Read explores 4 & 5  1) Describe  how immigrants were treated by nativists  both before and after the Civil War.  2) Describe  how the U.S. government responded to the treatment.  Group A please be ready to tell me what positive things happened as a result of the factory fire in the video .No homework if you all do a good job!!!


                                                                           Wednesday 4/7
     Grade 6- Read explore 5 and tell how the Himalayas both help and limited  the Chinese. 

     Grade 7- Look up the present members of the Cabinet. How many men, women, and how many people of color . Read explore 4 and   1) Tell who makes up the Judicial Branch, 2) Name  the powers of the Judicial Branch   3) Name the 3 levels of courts 4)  How many justices are there?

     Grade 8- Rewrite the explores from last night  as we talked about in class. and put on the goformative. Girls redo explore 2 ( CGG4TJ )  and boys redo explore 3 (  5R2UZ2 ) for a grade.

                                                                             Tuesday 4/6
     Grade 6- Read explore 3 and answer these questions. 1) Explain who is in a dynasty and how many China has had in their history. 2} Why were the capital cities moved ? 3) During the Han Dynasty , the Silk Road developed. Why was it so important? 4) Why were most of China"s  important cities built near rivers? 

     Grade 7- Rewrite the powers of the Legislative Branch if you need to. Read explore 3 and describe the powers of the Executive Branch and who serves under him.( what are they all called as a group)  Just tell me in general, you don't have to list all of them.
