Spanish Songwriting Assignment

Dear Students,

Get ready to unleash your creativity! For this assignment, you will be writing your own original song in English and then translating it into Spanish. This project will help you practice your Spanish vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation while having fun with music!

Instructions:

1. Write your song lyrics in English – Your song should include at least two verses and a chorus. You can choose any theme you like (friendship, family, dreams, nature, etc.).

2. Translate your song into Spanish – Make sure your translation keeps the meaning of your song while using correct Spanish grammar and vocabulary.

3. Practice pronunciation – You should be able to read or sing both versions of your song.

4. Presentation – Each student (or group) will present both versions of their song in class. You can either sing or read the lyrics aloud.

Grading Criteria:

✔ Creativity and originality

✔ Accuracy in translation

✔ Correct use of Spanish grammar and vocabulary

✔ Pronunciation and fluency in the presentation

 Bonus: If you want to add a melody or rhythm to your song, you’ll get extra points for creativity!
