It's going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can't wait to see what the years has in store for us. We will be sharing an exciting year of growth together, learning about letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and social skills.
Now here is a little about me. I am a graduate from Wheelock College with a degree in early childhood education. This is my 20th year teaching Kindergarten here at Cheverus School.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I am available anytime before school and after school.
Kindergarten Classroom Expectation
Homework:
Students have homework Monday –Thursday. Each homework assignment is due the following day. Sight Words are given on Monday and are expected to be reviewed nightly for memorization. Weekly Poetry Journals go home on Fridays to be read with families and returned on Monday. Homework can provide students with additional practice and repetition. Having your child spend 10 minutes practicing something outside of school is an opportunity to get in some of that extra practice
Participation:
All students are encouraged and expected to participate in all classroom activities to the best of their abilities. This includes: morning meeting, rug activities (games, songs, reading, etc.), classwork/academic lessons, reading groups and independent learning centers.
Behavior:
Students are expected to respect all teachers and classmates, follow established routines and safety rules, and raise their hand to speak, remain in their seat, listen attentively, follow directions, maintain self-control, work cooperatively and work independently.
