Today at mass, we celebrated Mrs. Richards who is retiring from Cheverus Catholic at the end of this school year.
Sophy Francois, one of our 8th graders, shared very kind words about Mrs. Richards.
"I want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You do so much for the children and staff that go here."
During the past few weeks, each classroom put together beautiful cards. A few cards were hand drawn by some of our artistic students; others were covered with special messages.
Mrs. Fallon's first graders each wrote one memory they have of Mrs. Richards in their classroom card.
"You helped me with a hard word on the paper when I was doing a reading over the loud speaker."-Devina
"You have always been kind to me."-Braydon
"You let me eat in your office."-Alexis
"You have a pretty voice and when I was outside the principal's office, you said I could go in."-Jaiden
We are positive, Mrs. Richards will laugh, cry and most certainly enjoy reading all the messages from all the students!
In addition to these cards, Mrs. Jackson presented a medallion of the Holy Mother and Mr. Arria presented a plaque for Mrs. Richards and also said a few words.
"What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like. This quote is attributed to Saint Augustine, a Doctor of the Church, and the son of another saint…….Saint Monica. For all of us who are fortunate enough to be a part of the Cheverus family, I believe you can understand why we chose a part of this quote for this plaque honoring Mrs. Richards. Hands that help, is there anyone who does more to help students, staff, parents, and visitors to Cheverus? So when I ask the question, “What does love look like?” The answer is clear, I know that you would agree with me when I say that it looks very much like Mrs. Richards! How lucky are we to have shared the same time and space with such a person as she? She has served as an example to us, a model of service, kindness, and patience. For this we thank her and wish her peace, joy, and happiness in her retirement. We will miss you more than you in your modesty will allow you to imagine. Good luck and Godspeed."-Mr. Arria
We will deeply miss Mrs. Richards and we wish her the best retirement!
"Not only do I love you, we all at Cheverus love you."-Sophy
